If both of you are in agreement – and if both of you get along — go together to an attorney and file … OR … if nothing is involved but a simple Divorce – you can do it yourself.

The judge won’t make you go to counseling before divorcing since you’ve been apart for 10 years, plus property claims won’t be an issue since you both own separate property. Just go to court and you’re good

After 10 years, you’re both probably ready just to be done, right? So agree that you’re done, arrange for any settlement or custody/maintenance (if you haven’t already) and file for divorce. If it’s uncontested, it’s simple.

Should be quite easy if you’ve been separated for that long. It varies by state and you can research your state online. But in most states if you’ve been separated for at least one year (or if you have not had ‘marital relations’ for one year) divorce is pretty much automatic – just file the papers.

But still – look it up, ask a local lawyer. Once you have the proper info for your state you should be able to get it done quickly and easily.

I don’t think there is any difference between a divorce after separation of 10 years or divorce after separation of 1 year, it’s all the same. Though, like the above person said, the judge won’t be interested in counseling for you two or attempting to keep ya’ll together.

I just did this myself so I know…First of all if there are no minor children and there are no assets to divide,no bills that you both incured then all you need to do is go to the courts pick up the divorce papers and fill them out, file them with the courts, have him served, file the proof of service with the courts and if he doesn’t contest it then 30 days later you sign the final papers file those also and then sit back and wait by the mailbox for the papers to come telling you you are free. Of course all of this has a little cost$ to it..But it’s pretty simple.I’m just waiting by my mailbox right now..YEA!!!
