Don’t worry it is about to go back. 90% of marriages worked before because people needed each other.Life was tougher, jobs harder to come by, people had roles to fulfil and committments to make, and people stand by their partner.

Then we had twenty years of easy living, more money than we could spend, and doing whatever we wanted.

Watch this new recession reel people back down to earth. Oh yes, people in need stick together a lot more.

Apparently it’s too easy to decide, not necessarily to do. My husband just decided after 8 years together to divorce me. AND, he says "all it is is a piece of paper anyway"….GRR, apparently vows we took before God and all of our family and friends meant jack sh*t to him….

The process and paper work is not easy. I think people are not willing to work it out and they find the easy way out. For example if you have a broken pipe at home, are you going to buy another home and not fix it? Times sure are changing but it is the people that are changing most of all.

i think they make it too easy to get married. it's a lot of people getting marriedfor the wrong reasons or that's not ready and don't truly understand what a marriage is supposed to be about.

I agree with gotta luv. My best friend is enduring a divorce and I feel so bad for her. It's not easy- it's not expensive- and it takes a major toll on a person to free themselves from what they thought would be bliss forever.

They should make it harder to get married (people wouldn't just jump into it) and easier to get divorced.

Yes i do believe that society has made it easier to get a divorce.
now just to clarify…making the decision to get a divorce is not what’s easy. however, the process of getting a divorce is very easy.
if you get a covenant marriage license, then even before you get married, you are required to have gone thru counseling with clergy (priest, pastor, etc). also, you would need counseling before attempting to get divorced. now if you can just go to Vegas and get married on the fly, then of course getting divorced is gonna be just as simple.
sure times are changing, and people change as well…but marriage is a sacred institution, and it should be made very clear to people even before they take that step. maybe then more people would rethink whether or not they’re ready or if they’re with the right person.
THAT just may lead to less divorces as well.

People don't care anymore when they are married. They give up too easily and then get divorced. Sometimes a divorce can make things better especially when one person is being abused. I don't know too many people who are not divorced.

Yes. Society has just made it to easy. It is more common to get divorced these days then celebrate a 10 year anniversary. It’s an assertion of the "What about ME". Marriage is about giving to another person forever. It is meant to be a promise of a lifetime. But numerous people are just in it for the GOOD, not the troubled times.
